Normally the right bag is empty to lock up jacket/chaps/helmet around town.
Left bag has a cruz muti-tool, 4" & 10" crescent, small multi-screwdriver, flashlight, knife, couple bungees, small cable lock, disc lock, thermal pullover, sunsreen, hand cleaner, rags, hat and walking shoes.
Raingear and/or heated gear gets hauled around in the winter sometimes.
I keep flat kit, duct tape, wire ties, fuses, wire in the empty hole for the ABS module under the side panel.
Some clothes get thrown in and Chinese tour pack might go on if going somewhere.

You'd think a company would come out with tool kits packed specifically for each bike this way you dont need to buy tons of different sets and take a few of each item from each.

They can probably charge a premium for inexpensive tools!

Wondering where, or if, you guys keep a spare helmet on your bike?

Was thinking of mesh-ing it to the backseat, but would want a water/weather proof so i can leave it on the bike at all times.

Anyone do this?

right bag: a bag of zipties,a couple tie down straps incase i need to tie something down to the side luggage racks, stereo remote, stereo rain cover, and a QuakerState & Lube kickstand coaster i was given once at bike nite.

left bag: usally empty except for a clear pair of safety glasses in an old sock. i usally put my wallet, phone and a sweatshirt and whatever else i need to take in there.

tour pack: is in 3-4 pieces on a shelf in the garage.

i have a leather tool bag on the chrome cross bar across the rear fender. i keep some basic tools wrapped in a towel incase i need them.

Left side: jacket and gloves if not wearing them. Half helmet when parked. Registration, insurance card.

Right side: two bottle coozies (I keep dark and clear glasses in these...very handy) kickstand coaster thingy, ball cap, OL's jacket if she's with and not wearing it.

Windshield bags: garage remote, smokes, phone.

For longer runs we'll have some sunscreen, maps, etc. I usually pack for the plan of the day and empty everything out when wiping down the bike at the end of the day.
