I purchased the 2014 FLHXS and the GPS has a 3D mode. The display is heading up VS North up. When in this mode there is an orange indicator that is supposed to point north. It does point north if the bike is pointed north or south. If I'm headed east or west the north indicator points south. Anyone else notice this? I do have the latest (1.17.1.1) software on the 6.5 radio. I've attached a picture of what I'm talking about. In the picture, my bike is pointed West.
Yes my pointer in 3D does what it wants, thought it might be pointing to the nearest dealer..
Also noticed if you have it turned on the distance to next turn does not match the talking woman. Turn left in a quarter of a mile, with 500 feet on display
I guess that's the price for an accurate gas gauge.
I have not noticed the issue you mentioned above however I have noticed the next turn indicated does not always match what the voice states. Example - the voice will say turn left in half mile but the arrow indicator will show turn right.
I only paid attention twice to see which was correct and both times the voice had it correct. This sucks because I cannot always hear the voice and lane choice comes into play sometimes.
The devil is in the details.
go into settings-nav and change the setting to be pointing where youre going, I cant tell whats going on when north is always up. Also shut the chick off,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, she drives me crazy

Yes, I've experienced EXACTLY the same thing. Hopefully we'll see a fix for this soon.
As is the case with most factory in-dash GPS units, the HD unit leaves something to be desired. As impressed as I am with other aspects of this bike, the GPS could be better for sure.

On the Harley website it saids the arrow pointing North only works in the 2D mode.
That's what I understood it as...As far as the voice not matching the arrow I haven't experienced any trouble and I used it to take me from Pa to Florida the week before last via the scenic route and she never missed a beat.

I'm talking about using it in 2D mode. IF I'm in 2D "Heading Up" mode, the north arrow should point (wait for it...), NORTH. In fact, it generally does not. And if I'm riding due east or west, it never points north. It points exactly south. A glitch that will undoubtedly be remedied in time.
The other major point of aggravation for me is that there is no facility for finding a *city* - just a city, not an address in a city. Although you can toggle through to the address screen and toggle down to the *city* field and enter a city (voice command only if you're rolling), it still comes back with several addresses associated with that city and makes you choose one. Furthermore, this method is only helpful if the voice recognition actually works, which it does sometimes and does not on other occasions (at least in my experience).
I haven't paid attention to the arrow, but I will check mine out and see what it's doing today. I have been pretty happy with the GPS so far, although I would like to figure out how to pause it or cancel a route while you are riding. There have been several times where I used it to get me home and once I was familiar with where I was I wanted to shut it off but it kept giving me diriection all the way to my drive way. How do you pause or cancel a route while riding?
