Always nice to know what bike you are asking about? But I put standard sweepers on my '09 EG without changing cables/lines/wires (unless going internal). About as big as the clutch cable will go. I like them.

Judging by your Avatar-10" is as high as you can go and not have to change any of the stock wires or cables. As far as what's the best bars, well that's a whole nother can of worms. Lots of different opinions. Research and do your homework is the best advice I can give you on the bars. You've gotta find what appeals and is comfortable to you.

most 10 inch will fit with stock cables and wires, some pullbacks like clockworks sweepers and ergo ups or urge back, wild ones 575 will fit but most find the clutch cable tight and change it to a +4.

14 wont work from what I just saw swapping my bars tonight. I think 10" or Heritage style or similar is max before you have issues.
