Default please help, missing coughing backfiring

I can't figure out why my 06 fuel injected is suddenly coughing, backfiring and missing. Ran great when I parked and now 2 days later it is a mess. It won't idle, has poor power and is just miserable to ride. I checked the connections on my power commander, fine. Unhooked power commander and everything is worse so I think the power commander is doing its thing. I cleaned the plugs, and even swapped out some old ones, no change. I think it has to be an electrical thing. No codes being thrown. Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you first turn on the ignition and the run button does the fuel pump sound any different when it is priming? My brothers softy was doing exactly what yours is and his fuel relay had a crack in it...also very common to develop a pinhole in the fuel line. I could hear the difference in the fuel priming and knew it was one or the other.

Try filling up the fuel tank and see if it runs any different.

What city in Texas?

dawg has a point also...there is a service bulletin out for that year and some of the dealers will still change over the injectors for the newer ones...the only problem is you will need a new map for the new injectors

Thanks for the replies. I have the stock injectors but don't know the angle or how to tell. Priming still sounds the same to me. Live in San Antonio Rooti.

Replace gas, clean throttle body, changer spark plugs first. If still persists check for leak.

Can be water in fuel or loose or dirty battery cable ends. check this first. Install Heat isopropy;, the red bottle about 4 oz, fill tank and ride it.
