No I didn't specifically do those items. I followed the directions in the manual http://www.thunder-max.com/Support/I...g%20Manual.pdf and assumed that the re-initializing the module steps would reset parameters.

That is old info. May I suggest you either PM me your e-mail addy so I can send you the instructions on how to reprogram the TMax correctly and then load the correct base map, or you can call Randy et. all at Zippers and see if he will e-mail you these instructions. Reason being is you run the chance of the IAC steps/stops from your last map selections conflicting with the steps/stops of the new base map and things may end-up less than optimal, which is almost a guarantee.
Map #392 is a FANTASTIC map for your setup, IF setup correctly. Easy to reprogram with the right instructions. You'll find it hard to stay out of the rev-limiter with the correct setup.....LOL!![sm=gears.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]
EDIT: just re-read my post and it sounds like I'm begging you for your e-mail addy. By no means am I pushing my help on anyone. Just trying to help. Disregard my reply for any offense. Good luck.
My test ride after changing over to 392 was much better as far as the decel popping goes. Still heard some muffled rumblings on decel but nothing like those big explosions I heard before changing the map. Felt like the bike had lots of power, even when I twisted the trottle in 6th gear at 60mph, it had great acceleration. Randy at Zippers recommended that I use map 394 for my setup. I'll probably give that map a try before I settle on it or 392.
Hey Cowboy I'm wondering how you are doing with your current setup. I have the same setup and pulled the TMax. However this was back in March and I see several maps have een released since I pulled my unit.
Last time I was looking at them, people were saying Ver. 4.5 was a few days. On the other site , sounds like some people are having problems. I am thinking about a change, but, It doesnt sound like a plug in and play deal.. I am still having pinging problem with my SERT.
Like it was said above if you order the TM from Zippers you can have it loaded with the setup you have on your bike. You have to drive your bike for it to tune. It only tunes where you ride at so you need to vary yer riding habits.
Hope you realize that when you go to low restriction exaust you are going to git some poppin.
Also if I remember right pciii only tunes at a very small map like 400 squares. The sert is like 700 tunable squares. The TM tunes at like 1850 squares. One good thing about the TM A/T is if you upgrade yer bike or motor you can redo the base map and your are close enough to ride the bike for it to tune.
Also remember this. When installing the oxygen sensors. DO NOT use ANIT SEIGE on the oxygen sensors. If you git any of this on the sensors you can damage them. Screw them in dry.
Read the instructions. They can be downloaded at zippers site.
If power is disconnected from your bike reiniaalize the bike before trying to crank it.
Periodically check the zippers site to see if there is a upgrade for the software and firmware for yer bike. All you have to do is be hooked up to the internet. If it upgrades , upgrade the software in your bike.
I have the TM, had in installed by my builder, then we put it on my buddy's bike. He likes it too.
I had one on my 11 limited and just traded it in for 14 RK. Of course had to buy a different one. Found one on ebay for $400 barely used. Installed Rinehart true duals and velociraptor a/c from Kuryaken and the new Tmax, a little popping and before I new it , it was gone and running better and better each time. I love the Thundermax.
Ihave an07 SG with Rinehart true duals and the newSE proheavy breather with the K&N filter. I installed the Thundermax with integrated autotune.
First let me say I had no idea the 96 was capable of the performance you get with the thudermax. The
bike just screems. No heat issues or aything negative except I have decell poping from 2300rpm down toidle in 3rd, 2nd and 1st. From eveythingI've read from others who have and love the thundermax I am one of the few with decel poping problems. I've been workingwith the guys at Zippers and so far they areas baffeled as I am as to what the problem is.I won't bore you with all of the fixes we've tried. I would like to hear fromanyone that has the thundermax with auto tune and the same or similar set up as mine whether you've had the same problem or not. Thanks for any help in advance.
I have the TMax on my 12 RGC...if you are impressed with it now...wait until you get it dynotuned! I tried for acouple of months with the autotune and various maps..it ran strong but I was skeptical. Took it to Trask Performance in Phoenix and had them dynotune it...the difference was significant.
