I would have just called them, and reminded them to change the advertisement on here.

There is no coupon code but instructions from the vendor to leave a note with your handle here and request the discount. I comply yesterday and place the order.

Today I get three emails stating the order is placed. Checked my CC and the full amount, is charged, no discount. Third email states that I need to call the vendor to request the discount.

Time is valuable to me during the business day and I do not need games. I complied with what the vendor dictated in their post here for the discount, yet now I have to call the vendor? What for?

Am I off base with being upset? I am more upset that they charge the full amount to the credit card and after the fact tell me I need to call. To me that is not the contract that I agreed to.

Long short, I told the vendor to cancel the order. I am not playing games.
As some said earlier, when you called them to cancel, they could have interrupted you and said" we will make it right now" and that may have been the end of story. I have needed to remind vendors of things as such, and most are happy to oblige, if it was indeed a simple over site.

I am putting tires on my dually today and Goodyear has a rebate, per set of four, and I am anticipating greif trying to get the extra 2 slid through on the rebate. I may be wasting energy thinking about it already, but anticipate an issue where they advertise for a set of 4 to get the rebate. It's an extra $60 that I fell entitled to........Sorry for the derailment, but it is a sign of the times..........Get what you can, when you can, then f*ckit from there on out.........

Hi All...this has really been an interesting thread to read. We have recently upgraded our website and it wasn't set up for coupon codes yet. Also, for security reasons (which we though people would appreciate?), once an order is placed on our website, the credit card information is deleted.

That is why I emailed this gentleman to contact me. I had no credit card information to refund the 10% forum discount to. I'm not sure why that request was so offensive or "playing games". Since our site has been upgraded, I've followed this same process with MANY HD forum members without any issues.

We've been in business for nearly 28 years and are proud of not only our products, but also our attention to customer service. As a result of this thread and the baffling controversy, our web master has altered our website today to use the COUPON code for forum members to receive their 10% discount prior to checkout.

The code is "hd forum". That is hd "space" forum (with no quote marks). With that coupon code, the discount will be automatic and be more user friendly.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

When I inquired with ClearView about fitment for my 2014 SG, I was amazed at how fast the response was. I was told at the time that the design phase was about done and production should begin soon, so check back in a month or so as the 2013 windshields would not work on 2014s.
This was only about a week ago so I haven't checked back in yet. But given the quick & honest reply that my inquiry got I'm not surprised that they responded here to set things right. I'll be giving them a shot when they've got models in production for my bike.

Discounts are great, but conditions or procedures should be clear up front. I understand the OP's frustration after following instructions and then seeing the full amount charged. Some days you just don't want to deal with surprises or hassles - no matter how minor or well intentioned.

LRS has been my best experience for windshields and they are a sponsor. Good luck.

Every business makes mistakes. If they make quick restitution, and change SOP so it doesn't happen again, I can respect that. Seems like Clearview Shields did that, so good for them.

I bought from Long Ride Shields a week ago, used their 20% coupon on line and got it on my front porch 3 days later. No complaints!

Props to Clearview for responding AND modifying their website to prevent future issues.
