The 05 does NOT have air in the front....older models (not sure of the years or when HD stopped using air in the front) don;t.

Thank you,I didn't know that, with me still rideing a 99, I'm just not up on all the models. I did look in my shop manual for the information but it is only for 99's I assumed {we all know what that means} they were still doing it that way. my mistake, thanks for enlighting me.

Thanks, I knew about the one for the back. I've got the HD pump and play with it from time to time. I keep it set to around the middle of what the manual says for someone my size. But I do adjust it when I have a passenger. Although I don't know if it make a difference or not to be honest. I've noticed that she seems to "bottom" out from time to time. So I'd like to know for sure also if more air is a firmer or softer ride.

Thanks,
Joe

Isn't there some cheaper bicycle pump that would work?

I have changed mine, once. But I can't tell the difference. I have it set to the way it was recommended for when Kelly and I are riding together.

I can't tell any difference one way or the other.

It's a good idea to check the shock pressure from time to time, with 0 psi, you lose 3/4" of travel, which on a shorter shock is a lot to lose.
