Got to ride the 07 ultra in 70 degree weather today. The heat off the right side was pretty uncomfortable. Has anyone come up with an aftermarket fix for this?
If you haven't had it done yet, and up to you if you want to.
HD is doing a voluntary adjustment, so called 0903 letter.
to remap the ecm for fue/ air mix and timing.
This will help it run cooler.
Or you could do as other suggested above
stage one download, SERT, PCiii (and others)
install heat shields www.rjsoriginals.com
turn on the a/c or perhaps relocate about 2 000 miles north west.
I hear outside temps there are a little cooler, that might help.
Duals definately take the heat from the right side... left side still gets warm, but its a ginormous improvement. For simplicity's sake, I just did a complete dual vance and hines setup with the ovals useing a fuel pak, 2K miles later and its working great. A bit louder and throatier but not so much you have to wipe the blood away from your ears from having to crank the volume to hear the stereo over them. Also going with a good synthetic oil will cool things down even further. Arguable the effectiveness of an oil cooler, but I put one on anyway as I just liked the look of the thing, and didn't figure it would hurt. Everytime I've checked the oil, my digital gauge says I'm right around 190 deg.
