Default Quick question on bearings

Will be doing a bunch of suspension upgrades on the bike this fall (Progressive 444 and Monotubes), and also replacing tires and brake pads. While doing all this work, figured since the bike has about 36K on it, to also get the wheel bearings replaced they are the stock ones on my '08 Ultra.

From my understanding, I need two 9252 (for the ABS), and four 9276A (one on front, one on rear, and two on the belt pulley assembly)...am I correct? Just want to make sure I'm ordering the right amounts for each part number.

Thanks!

Yep. The pulley bearings rarely need changing though.

your ABS bearings should still be good,,,,but I would not use the piece of crap HD bearings...I would get the bearings from NAPA auto parts...ask for the premium SKF bearings #6205 these will save u money and have 10 times the quality....If you feel the need to replace the ABS ones,,,they will probably have to come from harley....you need two of each....but i would get the non abs bearings from NAPA

Yeah, I heard that ABS bearings are only available through HD. They get you coming and going. I know a few people that their rear ABS on their touring 08's went out in the 25K-40K range. I have a 10K trip coming up next year, so might as well just bite the bullet and do them while everything is off the bike anyways.

For the 9276A replacements, I may just look at those 6205...don't know much about them though. A quick search shows variations of the 6205 bearing. I want the 25mm diameter bore, 52mm outside diameter, 15mm bearing width version...right?

these are American made top quality bearings... but make sure you ask for the Premium NAPA ones....they offer regular or Premium in most there stuff....the best ones are SKF brand...I have over 77,000 on my 08 these have been in my bike since nearly new in both wheels (Non-abs bike) because of the custom wheels
i installed after purchase...the bearings in custom wheels are terrible and I always replace them right out of the box. Anyway the 6205 comes in either a 25mm ID or 1" ID for the custom wheels narrow bearing...be sure to get the 25mm if you have a 08 and newer...

Don't forget you'll need the bearing puller/installer tools also.

The SKF 6205 2RSJEM is a good replacement for the non-ABS bearings.

HD is your only option for the ABS bearing.

I have the same year Ultra, non ABS,with the same mileage. I just replaced the front and rear bearings during recent tire changes. The stock bearings were still in great shape but I replaced them anyways for piece of mind. I had to replace bearing assembly on rear pulley at 12k miles because it fell apart, replacement from Harley was an Improved design so there must have been a problem with the original.

It's a standard bearing, so should be available from any bearing store, as described above. You should find a number on the side of it, which will be similar format to the number for the 25mm bearing, or take the old bearing with you. Someone has probably posted the details in here before!
