Default Paul Yaffe monkey apes

Does anyone have an opinion on his bars? I've never heard of him before and I just bought a 2014 street glide and I think Carlini's apes will be too high. I don't want them higher than the fairing.

I have them on my SG. Great bars in my opinion. The 10" will put you right at the top edge of the fairing.

I also have 10's on my '11 Limited. I like them a lot BUT a pain to wire. IMO well made.

These are 12" Yaffe Monkey Bars. I was going with the 10" but took advice from the forum "if you think you want one size, go one size higher". I'm glad I did. They are above the fairing, but not too high + if its cold I can break out the heated gloves

Yaffe also makes Classic Bagger Apes, which have a more traditional design - and a VERY comfortable grip position. They're available in 10", 12", 14" and 16" heights, in chrome or black.

Also, don't forget that Form FOLLOWS Function. That is, get what feels right (not what you "think" you'll like) and don't be so concerned about whether they're above/below the fairing. There's lot of "wiggle room" in the adjustments: moving the bars back will lower them, and vice versa.

"Measure twice and cut once". Some good advice, considering that replacing handlebars can be an expensive proposition, especially if you're not doing the job yourself. It's best to get it right the first time...

Good luck!

If there is a possability you may change out your seat I'd do that first.

Im thinking of changing mine to 12's I've got the 10's put on when I bought it. But getting the seat redone by mean city will tecnically raise my reach(via lowering the seat thikness)...........So for now I'll wait.

While I havent had yaffe bars I have heard nothing but rave reviews about all his products and the quality of his work. I did have prime apes which were a knock of yaffe monkey bars and found the primes to be way too wide. I now run wild one chubbys 14" and agree with the statement to go one size taller than you wanted.

love my 10" MBB. wouldn't want them any higher, actually a inch shorter would have been fine. and yes the wiring was a bitty.

I don't know about the Yaffe Monkey Bars, but the Classic Bagger Apes are approximately the same width as the stock bars.

IIRC, the Wild One's were rather wide, too. Don't know that I'd like anything wider than stock, but that's just me. YMMV.
