Default Spar Plug Wire Replacement

I recently read on a "Harley online parts dealer" website that changing your stock spark plug wires to SE spark plug wires requires ECM re-calibration. Never heard that one before. Anybody?

I call BS. You are still burning the same air:fuel ratio. With the stock ignition, I believe any change in wires is more cosmetic than anything. I changed them on my FLD, and didn't notice even the slightest bit of difference other than the red wires looked better than the thin black ones.

I did hear something like this before.
Has something to do with the ECM watching the resistance of the plugs as it relates to pinging.
The stock wires and plugs have a predetermined resistance build into the equation.

I would think this is something the ECM would "learn" and adjust for.

Maybe on the newer ECM's...Fortunately not on mine. ( Just adds yet another reason to keep what I've got...)
