The thig is, the tuner an tune will be financed into the loan for the bike....and 15% off. This is why I want to make sure I get the right combo for a good running engine. A guy that used to work at a local Harley dealer told me tonight that he had good luck with the thunder max. Seems like the more I read, the further away from a decision I get.

Thundermax is a step backwards from what you have now. Lots of people that have it like it but you lose your knock retard and go back to a alpha N system.

Get the SEPST and have map 614SEB001 installed. That is the one that fits your bike. It is already set up for Stage 1 and the cams you are using. You won't need it dyno'ed unless you just want to.

My personal reason for having the dyno run was not to get the extra 1 or 2 HP. It was for the piece of mind that the tune was performing as expected.

Your financing your bike? Not a good Idea. $20K at 6% for example is about 3K a year to borrow that money. On top of that your financing your tuner? Are you really wanting to waste that kind of money and then get on here and ask if you need a tuner cause you don't want to waste money on one if you dont need it??

Most people don't have the luxury of paying cash for a new Harley.

Well since you have opened up this can of worms. I had a hunting accident back in 2007 that made me lose part of two of my fingers and I had 3 microscopic hand surgeries to repair damage done. At the time I did not have medical insurance. The 65,000 in medical bills could not possibly have been paid for out of pocket forcing myself and my wife to file bankruptcy. Fast forward to today, we are still trying to rebuild credit and we are doing the best that we can with the college degrees that we received after the bankruptcy. We both have full-time(well paying jobs) and medical insurance, not to mention my pension and excellent 401k match. Next time you want to give financial advice, do it when someone asks for it. I know what interest is and how to calculate it. I just want to be as smart as I can seeing as though I get a 15% discount on parts and accessories that I buy at time of bike purchase. I want to make sure I make the right decision. I asked for input on the parts not my families financial decision.
Thanks
Jeff

While I am on the subject....6% isnt that great for someone that is giving financial advice. When I bought my 2005 wide glide with a stage 2 95 inch kit installed at time of delivery and financed into my loan, I was given a 4.25% interest rate with not a penny down and I was a mere 21 years old at the time. I know what good credit is and hot to achieve it, but sometimes in life there are things that happen to screw all that up in an instant when a barrel of a shotgun blows up due to being plugged from a trip and fall.
Thanks again!

If you feel that strongly about it, then just go ahead and buy the man a new bike. I'm sure he won't mind.
