Came home the other night after dark, GPS changed to black night screen. Next day it was overcast with some sun but screen stayed black all day. Today sunny but screen was black again. After about 45 minutes of riding stopped at a light before light turned green the screen came off of night screen.
Left joy stick has stopped working twice. First time stopped to get something out of the tourpack for my wife. Started up riding down the road no volume control at all. Shut the radio off then back on same thing. Stopped shut the engine off restarted volume control worked.
Today could not get the home screen with the left joystick. Restarting radio did not help had to shut engine off and restart to get it to work.
Has any one had any of these issues? If so do you know why this has happened. Little glitches but still annoying.

I'm seeing alot of problems and guys are having to restart their bikes to "clear" them. I have to wonder as I type this if these guys are starting their bikes too fast. I was always told "turn the ignition switch on, and wait till the little engine light goes out before starting the bike." It has to go thru its checks and setup. I wonder if this could be part of the problems these guys are having. Especially with the speed control volume. And the new cambus.
I guess I'll start with you. Do you turn your ignition switch and kill switch on and wait for the engine light to go off before starting your bike?
Yes I wait for all the lights to go out before starting and hit the accept screen before moving. The update has helped the speed volume control problem.
Have a little over 1,000 miles on the trike these are the only issues with the radio, minor that they are.

Thanks for the reply. I know that the screen adapts to ambient light to make it lighter or darker. I dont know where the light sensor is but is it possible you have something in front of it that makes it think its dark out so it keeps the screen dark? Also just remembered theres a setting for screen brightness. I remember seeing auto brightness. Check that.
Auto brightness is checked everything is stock. You can see the brightness change going from bright sun to shaded roads.
I did have the CB & XM modules installed maybe they moved something. When it goes in for the 1,000 service will mention that to them so they can check it. Not sure where it gets it's light source from was just wondering if anyone else had this and found a solution.
Ambient light adjustment and day/night adjustment are usually 2 different settings. On 3 GPS units I've used, the day/night mode was based on time and time zone in settings.
Solved most to the problems turns out the radio is much smarter than I am.
Time was on GPS time not user time that probably caused the black screen on the GPS. Home would not work with the left joy stick. It was in the Classic Mode which causes that to happen. Have no idea how that happened but it had to be something I did.
Can only guess there is something I did or did not do to make the volume not work.
Thank you to everyone that helped solve my problems and make me realize how slow I am to learn new things.

Glad you got it figured out. I thought you meant your screen was darkened down thats why I suggested screen brightness.
