Default dumb question about windshield trim

Hi guys...I ordered my SGS yesterday and it is coming in about a month. I know this is a dumb question....

if I wanted to add the windshield trim.....do I only have to take out the screws one by one and attach the trim. it is as simple as that??

sorry..I know...I am a dummy....but never had a fairing...

Thank you very much!!! don't have to worry about the nut that holds the screw to fall into the fairing....that is what I was worried about!

Thanks again!

chose a plain trim- the ones with cut out designs are hard to clean the bug guts from

There's no nut behind the fairing (unless we're talking about drivers lol), it's a brass insert. Don't overtighten it when you reinstall the screws, the brass can strip. Takes longer to type this than it does to put it on

if you are worried about scratches, use masking tape on the fairing until you have the trim 85% tight, then pull the tape off.

Avid as mentioned before, do not OVER TIGHTEN them. Just need to make them snug.

Also you don't do one screw at a time. Take all 3 screws out, the windshield will stay in place. Lay trim in place, reinstall screws and snug em down.
