I bought a Daddy long legs seat from Lepera for my 2010 RK. It doesn't have the slit for a rider backrest. So I bought a Kuryakyn rider/passenger backrest. The backrest is awesome and very functional but makes the nackseat look cluttered. What seat options would give me the extra 2" push back that is comfortable with long rides? I recently went on a 800 mile trip to the Tail of the Dragon and I needed to pull over every 150 miles because my tailbone was killing me. I don't want a thick looking seat. The Lepera seat looks great but uncomfortable. I am 6'0 210 lbs with a 34 inseam
You're allowed to have as many seats as you need! You could keep the current seat for looks and shorter trips, but buy a more comfortably padded one to protect your tailbone for long trips.
Thin and hard seats = pain on long rides, no way around that one. Save the good looking seat for short rides and for staring at your bike in the garage with your favorite drink.
If you pick up a used seat for an electra glide and send it to mean city cycles, they'll modify it for you to get you lower and 2" back with good support and comfort.
Edit - see you have a RK - talk with mean city cycles to modify youyr RK seat to get you the positioning and the comfort, the electraglide seat would work, but it wont match up to your gastank well.
I purchased a solo seat w/pillion from C&C Seat. I purchased the one with the rider back rest and they are very comfortable. I'm 6'1", 210 lbs, 34 inseam.
