I just got mine last week. I'm very pleased with them as well. I can now hear my newly installed tunes better on the freeway. The stock gutted mufflers i had (how i bought it) was almost obnoxious. These are civilized and overall great sound and performance. Although that might just be due to getting some back pressure restored.
OP, do you have a pic of yours with the exact fitment issue you are admittedly obsessing over?
As someone mentioned, the heat shield covers the seam so nothing should be seen externally except the heat shield, muffler junction, which is typical on everyones bike with any exhaust (except a 1 piece system).
The Pro Touring looks like they fit better than the 4" Jackpot Dyno Tuned. It's like the muffler body is too short(?). I've got them & love the sound and can't see that gap when I'm riding anyway! LOL!
Like mine too but you're right... The rightmside muffler doesnt line up with the heat shield and looks a little "wrong".... I got used to it and dont notice it much but it really bugged me at first
