can't get any better
weather was great here in Mich yesterday so a friend of mine and I decided to go for a ride to Hartwick pines in the upper part of the lower peninsular , took all back roads , wound up at 379 miles round trip , great roads , weather and just the right mood to ride and do what we wanted , no big hurry , the bike was fantastic , just don't know how the newer bikes could be any better , just different , only down spot was the flock of turkeys that decided to cross in front of us on a curve at about 60 mph but they survived and so did I , think I will keep my 07 for awhile

Been thinking pretty seriously about trading up to a 14 SGS. Been working out my deals at 4 different dealers. Only one wanted to see my trade in person, so I set off on the 200 mile ride last Saturday. Gorgeous weather, no big hurry, and lovin' the ride. Thinking to myself... my bike is perfect. I have it suited to my exact needs, no matter the situation (one up, two up, tour pak, no tour pak, solo seat, pillion, sissy bar, luggage rack, etc etc...). The more I thought about it, the more I talked myself out of a new 14, at least for the time being. When things settle down, and prices fall a bit...maybe. But for now, I have the best bike I've ever owned, and I need to be happy with what I have, instead of what I don't have.

I haven't had a great ride in a very long time. My bike runs great but I work so damn much I don't have much time to have fun, plus our weather has just sucked for the past few weeks. Absolutely no way I would trade my '07 for anything newer - would only go older. The 96 is not an improvement over the 88 to me and bigger only means more heat. I do like some of the design improvements, like ones that make maintenance a little easier, but nothing else, except the gearing in 5th gear, it's perfect 
Bitching aside, my '07 runs great and I'll keep her for a while, or at least until I can find an '04 - '06 in as good a condition as mine with gear drive cams or the new hydraulic tensioner set up installed.
