Gear Display on PV

Set up the PV to display the gear indicator and noticed that the display will go back to zero each time I shift up or down before it displays the proper gear. It will also display 0 when I'm in 1st gear at a stop until the bike gets moving and the RPM's climb. Is this normal?

I haven't set the PV for gear position but my 6th gear light goes off when I pull in the clutch. Maybe the PV works the same.

Normal, at least it has done the same on both bikes I had my PV on.

It is a calculation by the ecm for load and rpm, it does not know the physical location of the shifter. Mike

I think it determines the displayed gear by matching speed with engine rpm... when you shift, or come to a stop the signals don't match, so it displays '0'... there is no sensor in the transmission that sends a signal up the canbus to indicate selected gear.
