Get rid of that damn thing and put something else in its place your confident with. There are options but do your homework and choose wisely. My recommendation; enough with the auto tensioner and get back to a tried and true method of manual adjustments, I went with a Baker;
The fuzz on the plug is normal clutch pack goop and about the same with everyone, change the fluid more often than recommended it takes a beating in there.

Primary update
Finally got out for a spin around the block and I am happy to report that the primary chain no longer whines. Still have the annoying chatter but at least I know it's not because of a loose primary chain. Slowly but surely, by process of elimination, I am zeroing in on the actual problem.
