I just rented a 2014 Ultra Limited for 8 days. It had a lot of pluses over my 13, but the two features that stand out the most are the extra room for the passenger and the "Twice cooled" motor.
Yesterday, we rode from San Diego to Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles. We were stuck in stop and go traffic for up to an hour at a time and I was amazed by how little heat was coming off the motor.
It did puke some fluid one time, but I put on about 1800 miles of some pretty intense riding after that and it did very well.
When they get the bugs worked out on this twice cooled motor thing, it is going to be a significant benefit.

Ok I gotta ask. First off why did you have to rent a bike if you have a bike? Second, you found a dealer that rents '14 Limiteds??
I just want to thank you for keeping us all updated on your situation.
As someone who has been through similar 'first year' issues twice now (2006 Dyna & 2007 Ultra), I was really hoping HD would get this one right, as I am so ready to take advantage of all the improvements since '07.
I feel your pain, & it is sad that you & many others have had to go through this mess. I hope they get to the root cause soon.
Our dealer here in mentor, Ohio has 2014 Ultra limited for rent
Thanks good to know cuz I have a few friends that are thinking about buying one and they didnt get a chance to demo one during the 110th. Hopefully our dealers around here will have them for rent soon. They cant keep them on the sales floor.

Last year the wife wanted to go to Seattle. When I did all the math, the best bet was to fly there and rent a bike. The cost would have been about the same if I rode there or trailered there, but by flying there and renting, I saved a weeks vacation.
So we rented and it worked out so well, we decided to fly and ride every year. Next year, we're going to Maine.
