My 2014 CVO Limited issues thread
I thought I would start my own thread simply to document and keep a log of the recent issues I am having and may have in the future with my 2014 CVO Ultra Limited. I'm not here to bitch and moan. I'm simply here to speak the facts and log things as they happen as I feel I may be in this for the long haul and want a record to refer to
Day 1 10/4/13. 1380 miles on bike:
Yesterday when I got home from work, I parked my bike. I opened the right side lower to check the coolant level (I've been doing this frequently). I was surprised to see it maxed out to the top. Suddenly my foot slipped in a puddle of coolant now flowing freely out of the overflow tube onto the garage floor. I took some pics, called my H-D Dealer, and the coolant level in the bottle then subsided. My Dealer offered to come pick up the bike, but Monday was the first time we could get together, so I asked can't I just ride it in to you now since there is still coolant in the bottle and it's only about 8 miles to the shop? Dealer said yes, bring it in.
I pulled into the dealer's service bay, turned off the bike, and just like at home it overflowed while me and 3 service guys watched the bottle slowly fill and begin to dump out all over the dealer's floor. Dealer stated they also had a 2014 Ltd with 49 miles on it doing the same thing.
Dealer said Harley told them to try to purge the system by running the bike with the coolant cap off for 5 minutes. It took 3 guys 5 to 10 minutes to finally get the cap off. They started the bike and after 2.5 minutes coolant literally exploded out of the cap opening. Tech shut off the bike and began to wipe coolant off of himself and the bike as it got everywhere. At that point I'm feeling very sick to my stomach seeing coolant all over my new bike hoping it cleans up and doesn't cause any permanent staining or damage.
Tech wheeled my bike through the puddle of coolant and into the back of the shop.
I also mentioned the infotainment issues I'd been having since the day got the bike, so they are documented with the dealer. They already have an order for a new tour pack lid for me due to bad paint. I got a copy of my paperwork and left the dealer feeling very uneasy and less then hopeful.

Day 2 . 10/5/13
Dealer just called and said they have no idea what is going with my bike. He was very nice, empathetic and apologized for me having to go through this. He said he still has the other '14 Ltd. there too, and they on Monday he would call Moco to speak to them about both bikes. I thanked him and asked that he keep me updated.

I know its not a CVO but its basically the same bike .I only have a little over 800 miles on the bike so far. The only issue I had was the left controls. I was riding home and blew the horn to say goodbye to a friend and the whole left controller quit. no turn signal, volume up and down and so on. I took it to my dealer first thing the next morning. They said it was a faulty computer board in the left controller. They took the part out of a new bike on the show room floor. So far thats it.

Dang Victory is gonna sell a lot of bikes in 2014 Seriously this was a half measure they need to just stick a radiator on the damn things & be done with it... 2014 Harley riders obviously don't give a crap about water cooling a big twin the way these things are selling my 2 V-Rods never leaked a drop, plus I could sit there and idle them for an hour if I wanted

Check out Fuel-Moto's dynos in the bagger dyno thread. 79.91hp, 98.98 ft-lbs. Pretty damn nice numbers for a stock 103 motor. I can't wait to see what I get with the stage 1 AC and a nice set of head pipes as well as the Rinehart 4" slip-ons I've already got on there now.
