I'm in the process of buying a 2013 street glide vivid black. I'm going with the 19" agitator chrome wheel on the front. Having the dealer to the install(maybe) and they want 4hrs labor to install the chrome lowers, so i'm thinking of just keeping the stock ones on and going with the chrome covers from Kury....
Opinions please.....
I'm not very mechanical... LOL
Money is part of my decision...
I've got the chrome lowers and love them. Don't know how much the covers are but the lowers aren't very expensive considering what we pay for tuners, exhaust, wheels and such. Looks good on black too
Are you paying up front, or putting it in the deal?
On the new Roadking I just bought, I was looking at wrapping the pipes, cleaner and programmer into the deal. My first new bike, so I was excited at the idea of leaving with those items already on the bike. The dealer was all to happy to add anything to the bike. The night before, I did some math. I could buy the parts from J&P for ~1600$. Over the life of the loan, those same parts were going to be almost 5k. No way. That bi+ch came home stock.
Forget the covers....check out a chrome exchange on EBAY. I recommend rick9662, the lowers are an easy job. Pleany of advice on this forum as well as several youtube videos.
I'm paying cash for the mods, it's more like what to do with the money. I have a set amount to spend and just wondering if the money is worth spending. Since there taking the front tire off already thought it wouldn't be so bad to have them swap out the lowers right away, but they quoted me the 4 hrs labor on the install.
I don't like chrome covers. I call them "Chrome Overs." Kind of like a bald guy growing his hair long on one side and combing it over...aka the "comb over." Not fooling anyone!
