For several seasons I ran true duals and finally had enough of the noise. Switched to a Fullsac X pipe and after a dyno I got done a few thousand miles ago, I'm finding the left tip of my Monster Round is always very carboned, dark and oily looking. I clean it with laquer thinner and get them both back to looking new but does this mean that the tune was crappy?
I know that there is a slight difference on a catted header, but should mine be both then same?
Thanks again.
Pipe lengths are different, either side of the X pipe, so flow through both sides is probably not the same. However neither side should be dark and oily and that suggests something isn't right, either with the tune, or possibly the engine. There is no substitute to seeing this in real life, so go back to your tuner and ask advice.

my partner had the same issue and it was his tune....can't remember if it was too lean or rich....but he got it fixed
Thanks for all the replies. So I can gather that the tune might be off but after I think about it the condition has been getting steadily worse, (maybe a valve guide seal). It only has 33,000 miles on it.
Another important thing I just noticed is that my oil level is way down. I took it in for a dyno about 4,000 miles ago and their prelim check found that I was 2 quarts low and they topped it up, (so they said). I just checked it and she's about half on the dipstick. Could that much be going through a valve seal and messing up the left inner exhaust tip? It pukes a lot through that stupid SE air cleaner but I know I don't wipe up that much.
