I ran mine for about 3 months before getting the ACR activated due to a tuning issue with my Rev Perf EMS. It was definitely tougher on the starter with no compression releases. With the ACR activated, it turns over quicker and starts much easier. Compression releases are mandatory in my view and I think getting the heads machined for the ACRs is worth the money and trouble.
None for me, although I do have compression releases.
I dont have them but never seemed to need them. Always started fine even when it was 110* outside. Now if I did the B heads and a cr of 10.5 id get some cr's
Jamie did the level b heads on mine, 10.5 to 1, with compression releases. Before the build installed new compensator and starter. 107 is a great build.
I'm at 10.5 and no comp releases, its killing my starter. Don't care what they say about corrected comp., with my cams(andrews55s) should be 9.36 - the same as my stock 96 was but the starter says otherwise.
My 18 month old 107" has 15k miles with no issues. Have gone through 4 sets of CRs however... don't think the heads were drilled correctly.
Gonna try ACRs this winter... I always use the CRs, unless at over 5000' on a road trip...
Never a problem with starter or battery... with either the 107" or the 117"...
