Drag Specialties makes a filter, line and oring kit for half the price of Harley. I am in the process of changing mine right now. Check the other fuel line in the tank for excess wear marks. You may need to change that too because the rubbing on the inside of the tank will create pin holes. If you do, drag specialties makes a kit that is much cheaper than Harley. The kit will come with a check valve and new plastic line. Good luck.
If you have the DS part numbers it would help out others possibly wanting to change out the filter....
Changed mine out at 92,000 miles. Filter was still fine but the plastic hoses looked hard and inflexible. Replaced the filter with a unit found on EBay for 1/2 price and used submersible neoprene hose ( R-10 only!) so that I wouldn't worry about plastic hose cracks anymore.
I reused the tank gasket and screws with no problem ( just don't let it get dry while its sitting out as it will stiffen up if you do.)
i love fuel injection! i worked as a tech for a ford dealership for two years, and we pushed new fuel filters to the customers all the time! fuel injection doesn't work with dirty fuel! i read all the posts, and i agree that if you get clean fuel, you don't need to change your fuel filter. you need a new fuel filter, if you buy dirty fuel! cheers from montana
