Presuming the basic settings are correct, this can be the first symptom of speed sensor failure or contamination. The speedo becoming erratic or failing and the turn signal auto cancel failing are the other indicators of speed sensor problems. Pull the sensor and check for fuzz and clean if necessary.
I've never had this feature until I got my 2014 SG. I do have a question to those who have used this feature. Is the music supposed to get quieter when you are coming to a stop? if so, how can I make this feature work? I feel that my music does get louder while my speed is increasing.

yes the music get softer as you go slower ,did they throw in a manual with that $20,000 bike rtfp?
go thru the radio or display setting until you see avc that is what it is called on older bikes

"$20,000 bike rtfp" thats your reply?? I Just saw the thread and thought I'd ask a quick question since the volume does get louder while speed increases and doesn't get quieter while speed decreases. Hoping another Forum Member would have a quick answer. I've gone through the display settings, etc. That's why I asked.
On mine you get to the avc by pushing the volume button and scrolling to the avc adjustment. It will have a couple of different settings. When working correctly you won't even notice it is working. The volume will still be very loud if you stop the bike. I don't know if it works when using head set, never noticed. It can get turned off somehow. I think mine got reset when changed battery. Your owners manual is a good place to find out more about it.
I am not in front of my bike at the moment, but I believe that if you press the volume switch you will be given several options. IE: base, treble, etc. one of them will be AVC (automatic volume control) choose it and you will be able to adjust the AVC to your preference. The louder the ambient noise the louder your radio volume will be.

Press in on the volume control on your handlebar. One press brings up bass... two brings up treble ....three depends on options on your bike. Just keep pressing until you see AVC. Then up/down volume to change the setting. I like III
Gotcha. I have done all of that. I just wish it had a volume setting for speed and one for "stand still" or similar. It would be great if when I was decreasing to a stop that I could set the volume to a very low level because I find myself always manually turning it down so I can talk to the people riding with me. Thanks for the replies!
