OK, seems like it is working for you, so what I am doing is very similar to what you have listed. The actual route that comes up in the GPS is not what I developed in Ride Planner, downloaded onto the USB and then loaded into the bike system. I have saved my route on the USB, gone to another computer, checked the route and it works fine.

Once it goes in the bike, the GPS gremlin recalculates the route. I have a 2 hour ride to the US border and obviously I know the roads to take to get there. The GPS routinely uses other roads. I had to check the "avoidances" to ensure I hadn't checked off toll roads (I hadn't) to see if that was the problem.

The bike GPS is set to SCENIC, should I change that setting to fastest or shortest?

Thanks for your help

What I do is put a waypoint somewhere on each road you want to travel on, that way it has to route you that way. However you have to be careful and not go over the 9 waypoint limit. That includes the location at the beginning and end.

I did a route this AM on the MAC and downloaded it to the USB. Opened up the PC and my Ride Planner account and downloaded it to the same USB.

The MAC version presented 2 options on the bike, one with the route name and the other starting with *_ and the route name. The PC version just had one with the correct route name.

I chose the PC version and it went away from the planned route in less than 3 miles. I changed from Scenic to Fastest and it changed the route to the Highway. It seems the GPS overrides the planned route all the time for me.

Waiting for an update, I figure the more we write about these issues the quicker the MOCO will come up with a fix. According to my dealership, nobody else is having a problem with their GPS, seems strange, but mine was one of the early ones.

I keep mine on fastest. A key is to put it on the bike and see where the route is going to take you. If it is not going where you want, check to see if the waypoints are in exactly the right place and add waypoints in the areas of variance. It can be programmed to do what you want, just takes patience and practice. I will say that sometimes when I built a route in Ride Planner and put it on the bike that there will be variances. I have not found a situation where the two factors mentioned above did not correct the problem.

I saw exactly the same thing with the Garmin 665 but not to the extent I have with the 6.5. The difference was that you could bring the Garmin in, sit at your desk and check the route. Hope every thing works out for you.
