I require a new s/e compensator installed in my 2010 flhtk and asked the dealer for a quote to install the new compensator 42200064. The quote was $690.00. Is this reasonable.
If you know how to wrench at all there is a step by step install w/pics here in the forums. Not that hard to replace. I wouldn't pay that but that's just me.
There is a write up on how to do it without pulling the inner primary. I did it and it was easy. You do have to do some grinding on the inner primary, not for the weak of heart, but very easy. I paid low $200's for the SE comp.
Had mine done at a local Harley dealer back in mid 2011. Didn't replace with S/Eagle. 2009 Ultra.....Total (including oil and stuff).....$260
