OIL LEAK
[:@] I got a OIL LEAK when I ride in 6th gear for over 5 miles and up it lookd like it is leaking out ot the primary it leaks on to the belt. If I pull the left side cover the one with the fuse's I can see oil on the back of the motor. I would like to know what it is? Its going in shop on Wed. for 1000 mile check up. Next ? should I change to synthic oil? Well this form is the best lots of learning by me and great info.

I'm sure they'll find it during the 1000 mile check up. If it's where you describe, it's probably coming from the seal at either the starter or the transmission. Neither is a big job - couple of hours for the inner primary/transmission seal and the starter is removeable from the other side and I believe the o-ring fits on the starter boss. Let us know what they find. It's unusual to have an oil leak on a new bike these days.
