Default Bike Week

Well I made it back safe and sound from my first bike week in Daytona. I have to tell ya'll it was a great time. I was a bit concerned about being in the middle of thousands of bikes at first but after a bit I fit right in.....I loved it. The only problem I had was watching so many people getting totally blasted with drinks and seeing them climb back on thier bikes,....I'm ok with people drinking even though I've been sober for over 20 yrs,.....but some of them were so bad that I had not idea how they did it,.....but all in all it was a great event and am looking forward to going to another one,....nothing quite matches the sound of a thousands ofbikes heading down the road.....and the ladies that got thier chests painted,.....priceless.
I'm curious about others experience......

One Happy Biker!!!!!

great overall , at destination daytonaand the racetrack as far as bikes and gear is concerned . great bikes and great test rides and very proffesional people managing the booths and the displays .
the oval 1/4 mile dirt track races were great . good riders .

i think that destination Daytona has the city of Daytona beat for bike week and more and more builders and parts people are moving in that direction and out of the city.

the hd display at the auditorium was first class and w.g.davidson was there signining photos. fun .i guess for some .
the hd staff was there and were very nice at all times and courteous and well informed and no b.s. if they did not know the answer to a question they found the guy who did and got him for you . great company ,harley.

as far as main street and the bars ,i found it degrading and very low class. a very high number of uneducated and loud individuals catering or showing off to an equally uneducated audience lacking culture and civility. not everybody there ,of course , fit this description , but a good 60 % do .

in my hotel on the beACH area near main street ,some idiots did tire burn outs right in front of my room in the center parking lot at 3 am. but also at 8 pm and 9 pm and whenever .and reving up motors at all times was a rite of passage.

i had to use ear plugs the next evening because the management of the hotel just said that this is the way it is during bike week. i guess i stayed at the wrong place. luckily the cops came in and put a stop to it when someone else complained. but at 200 a room i think they could have put a stop to this nonsense.

the riders ,in my opinion where mostly well behaved and obeyed all the laws making for a safe trip on and around the streets and around all the loops . a shame that once they get off their bikes many of them behave like13 year old pubescent spoiled brats .

and the women ,not all, but many ,appear to lack self steem. this was obvious in their dress and behavior.and it was difficult to tell the difference between the prostitutes and thenon-prostitutes in the bars and the streets even when they had a guy or husband next to them.

so, just my opinion ,and something i look forward to next year ,again, but this time the hilton for me.

man, the extreme muslims and extreme christians out there would go bananas if they come to daytona during bike week.

I stayed at the Boardwalk (International and A1A) The sound of bikes 24/7 was a welcome change from all the Hondas with soup cans for mufflers thatI listen to at home all the time. I could'nt imagine going to a event like this and not expecting to hear bikes. I was probaly one of those 60% on Main as well and my wife was right beside me. How she dressed does not matter or make a difference to weather or not she is a pro. I would rather her wearing her old worn out leathers that actually have been used for many years than all the middle aged couples I saw buying complete outfits from boots to chaps, vests, jackets, shirts rings doo rags etc and walking around likeCaptain america

Can't wait for Myrtle,
