I have an 07 FLHRS coming in and was considering slip-ons and maybe the True Duals also.
I know the Tourers have the crossover pipe for a reason, good low end torque, but the V&H tech tells me the True Duals do not hurt low to mid range torque, so................
Can I beleive this from V&H? And; Big Shot Duals, Dresser Duals, Slip-ons with duals header pipes..........is there more than one true dual head pipe kit from V&H?
I would either use slip-ons or go to a 2-1. Most people don't like the looks of the 2-1 exhaust. I tried the dresser duals on my 06 SG. The performance was less than desirable to say the least. I think perfomance wise you would be happier with just doing slip-ons.I would have reinstalled my stock headerandused slip-ons had I not decided to try the 2-1. Just my .02 cents.
I'm running the V&H True Duals with the slash-cut Ovals on my '06 SG. I personally love them. I don't feel that I've lost any torque and probably gained some, but then again I also haven't dyno'ed my bike either. I'll do that once I finally decide to invest in either the SERT or PCIII.
I like the duals on my 05.I did a LOT of work on the motor after I installed the duals, so I can't actually quote my before and after actual specs. I had V&H ovals, and then switched to a Kerker slip-on. I picked up 4 HP and torque with the switch, and it sounds great.
I have V&H Big Shot True Duals, LOVE em! I do not notice any loss, only gain (roll on race with stock 07) and sounds awsome. No I have not dyno'd so I have no proof, but I can say you will NOT feel any loss. I switched more for sound, looks and richer mixture, perf. was a bonus.
When I went to V&H TD's, I picked up peak HP/TQ. I think it was because my tuner could truly tune each cylinder properly since he could now stuff his sniffer up each pipe individually....just MHO, but I've got the charts to prove it with my bike.
I can't feel any loss of power anywhere....in fact it feels stronger....I know this goes against conventional wisdom, but if you get your attention off the WOT dyno charts and go ride the bike.....you may be pleasantly surprised.
Switched to the V&H true duals on my 07 Ultraand lost a load of heat off the rear cylinder. Installed their fuel pak at the same time and gota definateincrease in torque over stock at low end andit feels stronger across the band. Sounds great too.

RE: V&H True Duals ???
I'm running V&H True Duals on mine. From my perspective they are great and since I'm not out to raise hell on the road don't mind giving up a little on the low end. Guess the real question is what do you intend on doing ??? If your out for quick starts requiring alot of low end torque and HP then would recommend the 2 in 1's. I like the TD's but can't give you a real TQ/HP read out yet as I'm not getting a dyno done just before I head to Myrtle Beach. Bottom line is what are you looking for??
