Digging up an old thread yet again. I'm searching for Brembo answers of a different sort, but my search led me here. Do the brake lines have to be swapped on a pre 08 touring bike when upgrading to the 08 and up Brembo calipers? What about the master cylinder? So far it seems yes on the brake line and not necessarily on the m/c. I'm trying to get my ducks lined up in a row before swapping to an Enforcer front wheel. Thanks for any advice.
Just did this conversion on a 2001 Flhtc. I upgraded to the Brembo calipers, and used an 08 brake line set form fleabay. my stock line would not have worked. I also stayed with the original master cylinder.
Braking was greatly improved, but the lever pressure is greater and grabs pretty far out. I think the matching late master really would be best.
I think the difference is 9/16 brembo vs 11/16 for the earlier master.
I have bought a stock later master but my other controls are chrome and its not so I may not put it on right now.
I also got a Brembo rear caliper I will put on later, I will have to make a spacer to fit my 3/4 axle.
