As far as heat goes your 06 was way cooler than the 07 and up bikes. The hottest ever was my 07, then the 10 and 12 were same and the 14 is cooler. Mike
I traded in a 2011 limited for the 2014 limited, it's a no brainer . The 2014 is superior! I love it. I had a coolent issue but was resolved with a new thermostat.go with the limited.
I went from a 2010 FLHTCU to the 2014 FLHTK, the Limited is by far the best touring bike I've ever ridden. No regrets at all, its worth the extra 2k. Make sure you compare apples to apples, the Limited comes with way more for the money.
Oh, and this is my first bike with heated grips, how have I gone all this time without them !
I have a 2012 Stock Limited and the heat isn't a big deal to me. I really like the storage in the lowers so if I HAD to choose, I wouldn't go with the water cooled.
Did not ride the Ultra......But I have to say the Limited is awesome...
The best I have ever ridden and far superior than my 11.
Both are good but I felt the limited was the best....JMHO
I would go with the limited. I bought a 2010 Ultra and loved the bike. But I decided that I liked the was the limited looked so I started changing things on the 2010 limited. I swapped to titanium gages, painted inner fairing, added phone accessory outlet to tour pack, luggage rack to the tour pack, hogtunes and a few other items and ended up with a really nice bike that cost a lot more than a limited.
Traded it on a 2014 Limited. except that I want my mustang seat back the new bike is perfect.
