I have a question for you guys who bought a SG Special. Whythe Special? Why did you choose the Special over the regular? Im looking atbuying a SG in the next month or so and I really cant justify spending theextra $$ for the Special. So, why theSpecial?
Also, did ya get any special pricing, did you make a gooddeal? I usually buy my cars end of the month, end of qtr or end of year, forbetter costing. But I havent had that experience with a HD Dealer. Justcurious.
I don't have the SGS, but I can tell you why I didn't spend the extra 2k (give or take). I didn't want to pay for a touchscreen GPS that I would rarely if ever use. Being my first touring bike, I was indifferent on the rear shocks. I'm also not keen on the glossy black painted inner fairing. For someone that does want these features as well as standard ABS and security the extra cost gets you a lot of bang for the buck.
Well you do get a painted inner fairing, GPS, sat radio and upgraded rear shocks. I went with the standard because or price, the dealers would not sell the SGS for anything less than 1k OVER MSRP.

you do not get the sat radio....that is an add on....the painted inner fairing on the Specials are all High Gloss Black...unless you paint it like I did to match the color of the bike
ABS and Security and the shocks were worth the 2,000 difference by itself. Then ad on the painted inner fairing and upgraded audio system why wouldn't anyone buy the Special? The radio alone is 1899.00 in the Harley parts book.
A much better value buying the SGS and really in the scheme of things, when your spending 20k+ on a motorcycle, whats 2k more? To me it was like buying a Lexus without navigation. Just didn't make sense.
I got $1049.00 off msrp on my special and if you price all of the options out separately its cheaper to buy the special, they are both sweet bikes though....

This is off of the Harley site. So to understand correctly, the special does NOT have SiriusXM? I realize that you have to add a subscription.
