Default HD Heated Jacket Liner...Dual or regular??? Whats the Diff?

Whats the difference between the HD/Gerbings Dual source jacket liner and the regular one??? Looked through some threads here and did a search on the ol' intra-webs and couldn't find an answer. Only thing I can tell from the MoCo site was that the dual source is polyester, spandex, fabric with poly-fleece and mesh lining, while the regular is just nylon ripstop. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

I have the Gerbing in the regular and have had it for several years. I found the light weight is all that was ever needed. Too much bulk under your jacket is not good. All we wear is like a long sleeve Harley T-shirt. This is more than enough. We have ridden in 18 degree weather and was very comfortable along with the heated gloves.

I think the dual source is the one that can be powered by a seperate portable battery pack or the bike's battery. Don't know if that was the info you were looking for or the material differences.

Nope. They both can run off of battery or bike.

The dual source on is the one listed as being able to use the optional lith-ion battery that you carry with you as you walk around. You can undoubtably rig it to the other one, but it doesn't specifically say it's compatable with it.

The dual source one is described as being made by Gerbing, the other does not mention Gerbing anywhere.

Yes, they both can run off 12vdc of the bike, however the dual source jacket can also run off a 12vdc lithium battery pack (sold separately).

I think the best way to get the correct answer to your question is to send an email to support@gerbing.com or call them at 360.357.1110 Ext. 12. I talked to them a couple of times before buying my gear and they were very helpful.
