I've done the Highway 12 ride a couple times and would love to go back again. Bryce Canyon is a must see! Rode through Utah for a couple of days and never was on a freeway once. Didn't know they existed there! I guess if you lived around Salt Lake City you might have to get on the freeway to get out of town, but other than that it shouldn't be to hard to find a 2 lane highway to go out and get lost....
I'm a utonian (actually we are referred to as utahn's). Feel free to kiss my *** next time you are here suffering amongst us locals. What a completely ignorant statement.

Utah is a great state, and the people are very nice. Some of your rules on drinking are bizarre. We had to pay $5 for a chocolate chip cookie, so we could have a beer. Beer is OK if you are eating with it!

Yzergod's statement had nothing to do with booze rules. I agree with you that we may have some quirky rules with regards to booze, however I'll take our state's financial management and politics over the majority of all other states. We all have odd rules on the books.
Utah has some of the nicest down to earth people that you will ever meet. And yes, as previously stated, the women here are quite easy to look at.
Spent a lot of time and gas in southern Utah over the years.Always look forward to returning. All the people I have met seemed to be pretty decent folks.Always find more back roads and beautiful scenery.I always go in the Fall, so not too hot, not (usually) too cold for camping out.Lot less traffic. Out in the Basin (HWY50) saw three cars in two hours.Damn traffic jam, anyway.See it to believe it.
I've lived in Colorado all my life and after riding through southern Utah my thoughts were that Utah has some better rides than my home state. A lot less traffic (except between Bryce and Zion), exceptional scenery and some really nice people. Moving there from Chicago? You're going to feel pretty liberated once you open your throttle on those roads. Ride Safe.
