Seems like everyone on here is dumping their current ride for a new 2014?
Nope, it's me too!
I've been on the fence about trading my 2002 Fat Boy for a touring bike for a couple of years now. I've been stuck on the various CVO tourers for awhile and was convinced that a CVO Electra Glide of some flavor would be my next bike. When I read about and then saw the 2014 Limited, I was hooked.
They finally cleaned up the front and rear lighting to even exceed the streamlined look the CVO's have had for a few years. The painted dash, chromed area between the saddle bags and rear fender, and awesome looking stock wheels and rotors made the Limited finally an alternative to a CVO for me.
Then all the new stuff. Heavier front forks. The high output 103 with a decent stock cam. The water cooling so my ***** aren't on fire. Linked ABS that works. Standard hydraulic clutch (I put one on my Fat Boy for the much more controlled action). The vent in the fairing making running lower windshields that you can see over possible for touring. The redesigned saddle bags and Tour-Pak look great and work without fumbling around with that backwards latching system. Built in Navigation.
All that was overwhelming in pushing me to finally trade in my beloved 12 year old Fat Boy.
1400 miles on the Limited and I'm glad I waited until 2014 to make the move to a touring machine. I imagine it will be another 10-12 years before I move to another new bike. I just hope I do it at an equally opportune time. I would be kicking myself if I had gone for that 2013 CVO EG I was so close to buying last year!
Ive been thinking about a touring bike for a while and with all the great changes to the SG it was the perfect time to make the change and yes I took a big hit on my 12 CVO convertible but its only money and I can still make more
Gave up my 94 wide glide for a 2013 Road Glide Ultra. No RGU for 2014. Was lucky to find a new 2013. I think people like the electronics of the 2014. I have heard the 2015s will have even more electronic features.
Not me. I chose a 13. The 14s are nice rides but I would never buy a first year run. I will probably buy the last year of the current iteration before they make the next change

That, sir, is an excellent policy! Especially with electronics...they can be, and generally are, a nightmare!
