I used to ride 90 miles to work in the 30s on my sporty without a windshield but with heated vest and chaps. 20 years later 40s is pushing it. I don't ride much over 100 (mph or degrees) anymore either.

Don't know why, but when the weather turns from fall to winter, I stop riding when temp gets around low 40's. When weather changes from winter to spring, I would ride well into lower 30's and enjoy it. When I said" ride" I mean out for all day, not just to work and back.

Ya'll are tougher than me. I do ride alot more with the limited though. It is a huge difference in cold weather compared to the Heritage. Coldest I have rode to work was 29 a couple of weeks ago. I would of rode today, but it was still wet and very windy and 39 degrees.

Still been commuting 65 miles round trip on the Ultra. I wear thermal underwear, leather jacket, leather vest, ski pants (cut the wind great), harley insulated gloves with gauntlets, baklava, half helmet and eye protection. Temps been down into the upper 30's in the morning on the way home and the only cold part is my fingers. Gotta love the fairing and wind screen.

With both total knee replacements and a hunk of metal in my right wrist, anything below 50 I ain't riding. I love to ride, but shaking more than the bike just doesn't cut it anymore. Too old to be macho, those days are long gone.

40 degrees for my 20 mile commute is my mendoza line. I don't own any heated gear. Chaps, gloves, heavy leather jacket, and full face helmet. I have to take my truck once in a while, racking up too many miles on my bike.
