Default Accessory Plug Location Questions

I was looking into purchasing one of these HD Part # 70264-94A Electrical Accessory Adapters on mu 2000 RKC and decided to do some searching about it on the forum about where they connect it. I found that it plugs in somewhere between the edge of the tank and the battery. After taking a flashlight and pulling the seat, I simply cannot find the plug. I even pulled the side cover on the right side (when sitting on bike) Can someone provide a picture or some detailed description on placement?

I am also unclear about what plugs into that to run under the tank to the bars. I want to plug in my GPS. To further complicate my brain, I also read that there is 2 plugs supposedly under the seat, one always on, the other, only when the ignition is on. I worry about accidently killing my battery.

Thanks!
John

well, It should be there.

there is one plug.

it has 4 positions which depending on model and year are:

ground

(the below will be dead unless the ign is on)

hot with "run"

hot with "Acc switch"

hot with "brake lights"

those of us who wire it our own stuff, not the H-D kit, use a meter to determine which circuit we want to use.

if you are tying in stuff that is going to be up front ( like a gps), you may find power in the headlight nacelle is easier to access.
most models have 2 extra plugs tied to the headlight harness ( these are used with Euro spec bikes) these will be a ground and a hot w/ run lights

here's a diagram- the accy plug is #21 etc.

see #6 ? that is the extra wiring in the headlight
