Default Wife Needs New Gloves

I thought that I would ask you guys from the cold country. She rides shotgun and I would like to stay away from heated, but want to get her a nice warm set.

What do you suggest?

nothing better than trying them on...there is a shop called Renegade on Cactus just West of 32nd st ( w of SR 51) if you find yourself headed for N PHX. Good selection and prices.

my fave gloves are custom fit deerhide- by a company called Thurlow Leatherworld which is defunct.
the beauty of the design is that there is no seam on the palm- and deerhide is more durable than leather, while much thinner supple and tactile.

I have summer gloves and heavier gloves for cold weather

while over priced, the quality of the H-D branded stuff is good.

there are often pieces of riding gear for sale on craigslist- women often post their stuff in "clothes +acc ".
Seems they get a Man with a bike and buy all the crap, then once he's moved on they have all the gear to sell cheap.

Lee Parks. Insulated or non-insulated seamless deerskin palms and elkskin backs. Premium quality, made in USA. Simply some of the finest gloves available.

My wife uses a pair of insulated winter by Alpinestars. They are supposed to be waterproof, but that is untested so far.

I'm using a pair of Held Freezer gloves, which are really good, but thick and hard to flex (my one complaint about them).

I'm interested in trying out some of the gloves made by Refrigiwear. They have some really good prices going, are made in USA, and have been around a good while. It looks most of the gloves and gear they make is more for work than for riding, though. For the price, I'm interested in giving them a try though.

How about a pair of battery-powered gloves? Those also interest me. The downside is they won't last for a long ride. OTOH you could use them for going to ball games.

Not to get off topic, but consider a Zippo Hand Warmer (or two) for her.
Lighter fluid filled, will last 8 - 10 hours.
Put in jacket pockets, hands in pockets from time to time.
Flat as they are, you can be creative where to put 'em.
When you get off the bike in the cold for a stop, they are priceless!
Worth carrying just for the stops, IMHO.
A woman with cold hands will love 'em!

Although I have many of gloves from wrenching gloves, leather, gauntlets, and heated gloves.

I feel that you can never have enough gloves for the right job or in this case condition.

I just saw that Leatherup.com had a really nice pair of Deerskin leather/insulated gloves that go for $80.00 but on sale for $29.00!!!!

Bonus: type in BLACK13 in the promo code area and receive an extra 15% off.

The review were pretty much 5 Stars on all the reviews and at that price, I will for sure to get some!

Happy thanksgiving to all!

I bought a pair of Tourmaster waterproof and very warm from a Honda dealer for $40. Good fit and they extend way over my jacket cuff. Agree that Harley branded gloves are good and great quality. Just a bit more expensive.

The Tourmasters kept me dry in a sudden short but heavy shower at the end of a 300 mile ride home on a cold day. My hands stayed warm and dry even up on the bars.

I have a good friend that lives on 40th St and Cactus just around the corner from the mall. The next time we visit him, we will swing by Renegade.

Leather-up generally has some decent stuff... I forgot about them.
