Used to be, back in the day, bikers never had to ask permission to wear whatever the hell they wanted to. And there were a lotta guys, including myself, who wore Carhartt. Nothing wrong with it. Wear anything that gets the job done.

I'm eyeing the new Milwaukee Tools heated hoody to wear when I commute to work. Will others question my manhood because I wear heated clothing? Sure they will. Will they themselves ride to work every day, and almost all weather that's reasonable. Nope. They'll wait till the weekend, put on their leather doo rags, and ride ten miles on their Harleys, and drink beer. And they question my manhood.

The point is, wear whatever gets the job done. And don't give a rip about what anybody else thinks.

I have a FMC leather vest with the conceal to carry pocket. It's great in the winter, all 2 weeks of it here in Houston, and during the rest of the year I use vest extenders to help keep cooler. The added pockets and protection are nice. Wear what you like and don't worry about everybody else cuz as long as you are happy that's what matters.

When trying to stay warm, all fashion rules go out the window.

I sometimes wear a fleece vest over my base layer, usually a t-shirt or when it is really cold a under armor cold gear long sleeve, it keeps my core warm and the rest of me stays warm too. Not nearly as bulky as the carhart which I tried before.
