Personally, when I get on my scooter, I wear whatever I'm comfortable in. I couldnt give 2 ***** what anyone else thinks about it. I've seen bikers wear brown, white, and anything in between. One of my buds even wears a snowmobile suit in the winter. If it makes you comfortable, wear it. For all you contributors to the posers handbook, I wouldn't voice my opinions to a guy riding in whatever he chooses. What lies under that carhartt coat might be a mean motherfuxxer.
Like I told my grand kids on the vacation we just returned from: "The only rule is: there are NO rules".... Wear what you want, what's comfortable, and what works for you. Don't worry about what anyone else says.....
Where whatever you want. Who cares what everyone else thinks. I wear heated gear when its cold. I also turn on the heated seat and heated handgrips. I have no shame in staying warm when I ride. We used to have an old saying many years ago when I was stationed at Fort Drum NY. "There is a fine line between hardcore and stupid." Seemed back then, we spent more time on the stupid side of the line as we were too bold to succumb to the cold. Now, I wear whatever I can to stay warm.
