Im curious what the difference in HP is between the two. I saw on a thread that the 14 is putting out 80 hp stock. I think its from a magazine dyno test. I thought the stock hp on a 13 UC is around 65. Thats a huge increase. anybody have info on this. Thx in advance.
Fortunately different markets demand different data, so having polished up my German and taking a look at the H-D Deutschland website I can see that the 2014 Ultra claims 85HP, the 2013 claims 83HP. Now I know that International spec bikes suffer from lower noise regulations, so those numbers may be different to the US market. The difference between those two is only 2.5%.
Torque numbers are similarly close, however the factory claims a fatter torque curve, giving better performance, and I know from my own bike that the numbers can stay close, but the torque available, especially in the low/mid range, can be very different.
does anybody have dyno charts for the two stock bikes?
I think Jamie over at Fuel Moto had a blog on this very topic. Go check out their web site.
76.40 hp 90.20 to this was done on a stock bike not broken in. It only had 100 miles on it.

'14 UCL has a 255 hybrid cam from the factory now and the cooling allows the timing to be tweaked easier. It was VERY obvious to me when I first took my 14 Limited out compared to my '13 RK that it had a lot more power via seat dyno. I know that I can pull away in 6th gear with a passenger very easily WITHOUT a down shift like I had to do on the '13 RK. But a wood 555 cam in the RK now to even the score but that score ran me about $1200 to even
You may want to check out Fuel Moto's website. They usually do testing on the new models to inform us interested folks what kind of power is delivered to the rear wheel.
It's my understanding, after talking to the dealer, that all '14 Touring models got the upgraded cam and more air flow to engine, so they have more power than the '13s. That's why the 14s are called a high output 103. It's only the Limited that got the upgraded cam, increased air flow and the "Twin" cooling so it's even more powerful than the other '14 Touring models.
