LEO's are using LIDAR now. By the time a LEO paints you, it's too late to grab brakes.
If you get stopped by a motorcop, trooper, highway patrol or dedicated traffic unit, you will get stubbed.
Unlikely to get a ticket if stopped by a busy beat cop in a big city.
If a LEO sees your detector, you will get serviced.

The latest Escort just got ranked higher than the Valentine mostly due to false signal elimination with location tracking.

An inaccurate exaggeration. Detectors are a tool and LIDAR can be detected as explained earlier. Also, not every jurisdiction is using LIDAR. It isn't in NorCal last I checked.

I've had CHP let me off several times and I keep the radar detector up. Having an 11-99 Foundation plate may help along with a nice attitude too...

FYI- Used Caution -Any one riding in Canada. They have some strict rules. I was in either B.C. Was going about 74 mph in a 100 kph zone (62 mph) and came over a hill and saw a trooper, hit the brakes. he followed me for a while then turned off on a side road. Didnt think too much of it until I checked into the motel and mentioned to the clerk. Clerk told me that 10 mph or over they will give you a ticket and impound your vehicle for 5 days.
That would be a pisser on vacation EH.

100% agree. I too as a lot of you do have the popo for friends. I hear the stories on how people try to circumvent the devices and fail so I don't buck the system. Not worth it anymore. It's a lot more relaxing to putt putt around at 65 than it is to sit on the side of the freeway waiting to receive that special little note stating "busted, now here's your fine and your % of increase on your insurance sir, have a nice day"

I can't even get a speedometer to work right, every one I've ever had has crapped out on me, so I give up. Don't even use a tack. So, why bother with a detector?

We all gotta work.....I've never had a bad experience with a LEO.....I have had plenty of experiences while traveling across the USA, Germany and the like while having a bad case of heavy foot. as mentioned earlier, most of its attitude and first impression. Almost always, I was in the wrong and in a hurry to get someplace. Every LEO has always been courteous although sometimes very businesslike. They may have given me a ticket, but they have always returned the respect I tried to give them.
