I got caught doing 71 in a 55, got a stinking ticket! Any you guys using a radar detector? I'm going to have to get one now. I should have been using my c.c. I was shocked when he pulled me over! I didn't know what was going on, but I'm sure it's possible cause I was watching for debris from recent construction. Anyway can't be getting anymore tickets, so I'm in need of a good detector to remind me.
I would think that these days the radar has advanced in technology far enough that by the time your detector goes off, you've been clocked. Unless you get a lucky bounce off of some other object to activate the unit say..in heavy traffic.
I use my Zumo 660 GPS to help keep me out of trouble. It reads out speed, tracks speed zone changes and turns red in color when you "accidentally" exceed the posted limit.
One other thought. If you are stopped for speeding and a radar detector is observed....you will get a ticket for sure. Recognition for those intending to break the law is usually swift from LE officers. Go ahead...ask me how I know!
Valentine Radar is the best I own one and swear by it. And no you are not clocked when it goes off. Valentine not only tells you how many bogies (cops) there are, but they even tell you if they are in front, side or back of you. Inexpensive it is not but well worth it. Example lets say there are 2 copes radar ing very close to each other most radars will only beep, valentine will beep and display a number of 2 meaning two bogies. It has saved me numerous times. It picks up laser, standard k band, etc....
I drove a big truck for a year and a half, just to go out & try it. About 15 years ago. The only time I ever got a speeding ticket in the truck, I had a radar detector on! Cops don't turn theirs on until they see you. You might better take the money & buy some more chrome!
I use a Beltronics detector on my BMW. Never bothered with one on my Harley. If I want to ride fast, I'll let a fast moving cage run ahead of me as bait.
I've had a Escort Passport nearly 10 years I use in the truck and car. Haven't got a ticket in the truck or car since I got it. Haven't figured out a good mount on the bike and don't think I'd be able to hear it anyway? Maybe 3-4 tickets on the bikes over that time, but I did sell the Ninja. Price of doing business...
Sad part is, it's just another way to tax you........Somebody will chime in soon and tell you to just drive the speed limit. Not always easy to do. I have had two tickets on my bikes without any intentions to speed. Every time I get a ticket, that is the case. When I intentionally do it, I am paying very close attention, where and when I do.

Exactly! I'm gonna try to use the cruise more often!
