I have bought both the hardware that the OP was talking about and the detachable tour pak rack from both vendors and quality is great. I first bought the two point and then purchased the 4 point and he gave me a discount. Highly recommended on both fronts.
I am glad to see some people here with the intelligence to buy after market. Its not called knock off but aftermarket. Which anyone who buys the **** from the dealer needs their head checked. Why pay all that extra money for something that is most likely no better. Just double the price.
If the ol lady or your rack falls off then you'll know...........
half the stuff Harley sells is made elsewhere anyway... I'd be willing to bet Harley won't give me diddly squat if my passenger falls off with their backrest mounted.....

I have purchased after market once or twice and it was lesson learned.
The Moco's **** fits perfectly, 1st time every time.
I will pay the extra ching for that piece of mind.
All though their technical writing department could use an overhaul for most of their instructions absolutely suck. Their products fit and color match perfectly every time I have used them.
Happened to think I actually paid less for my Agitator contrast chrome wheels than I could get any of the nicer aftermarkets offerings.

I think I will chance it with the docking hardware. Not much can go wrong there. backrest I think I will stick to OEM. Don't need some cheaper metal bending or snapping under pressure.
The same company that sells the docking hardware also has the Airwing luggage rack for around $140 and the Stealth rack for $160. Those are tempting.

I bought my Stealth rack from one of these companies for around the $160ish price. My friend has the OEM version. There is absolutely no difference in the quality and you can't even tell the difference. Just the price!
