Default interchangable parts from 2012 to 2008

I have a 2012 street glide that i have a few parts thrown around. My brother is in the process of getting a 2008 ultra and i would be willing to give him all the parts i have that he wants but i don't know what will fit. I have the factory street glide wheel which looks way better than whats on there now and i also have a factory street glide seat so when we get rid of the tour pack. The ultra has a couple scuffs on the chrome engine guard/ crash bar from when the previous owner dropped it so i was wondering i have a buddy with a 2013 SG that he would be willing to give me his since he took it off.

Any info you guys could give me my ultimate goal is to make it look like a street glide so if you guys have any suggestions on the rear tail lights, saddlebag mounts, dash on the gas tank and other differences, please let me know what will and won't fit.

Thanks,

anything that mounts to the frame is different ( 08 old style frame)- so anything rear is a no-go.

front ends are the same.

seat may fit- you may need to put bumpers on teh frame by the rear crash bar mount points

you can do alot of footwrk yourself by crosss referencing part numbers at ronnie's partsfinder

http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson.com/

the 2 digits at the end of a part umber indicate the year introduced, that can help determine what fits what

Mike has covered most things. I sometimes joke that it is our duty to prove that some stuff will often fit older bikes, even if the MoCo tells us it won't! If you have parts to hand, then offer them up, you may be surprised, or find they won't work. Give us specific things you want to know about and we will do our best to help, but you won't find a single 'how-to' to cover all possibilities!
