Default Speed volume adjustment not working

On a new 2014 Streetglide special with the 6.5 Boombox. I've played with the settings and I can't hear any change in the volume of the radio as my speed changes. Anyone have this issue?

It changes very little compared to older model, almost worthless, was told by dealer a fix was coming in a download...

I can't speak to the 2014 models but on my 2009 I never could see any difference when setting the automatic volume control (AVC). I would set it low and then set it high, never could see any appreciable difference. In theory it is supposed to boost volume the faster that you drive. Hell, isn't that pretty much what the volume button on the handlebar does? Unless I am missing something here, isn't the AVC kind of redundant?

I'll bet a lot of people don't even know they have a automatic volume control.

The AVC on the last couple of touring bikes worked great, when I'm doing 80, I set the volume and with the AVC, when I came to a stop the volume had dropped enough so I was pretty much the only one how could hear it.

I think? I noticed the volume control working better using my iPod vs the FM radio. Not 100% sure. It would be interesting to see if anyone else notices the same thing.

I notice a difference, but it is a subtle increase and keeps increasing with speed. I think cause its such a smooth transition people think its not working. I have mine set at the 3rd mark out of 4. I think it works great!

A quick edit... I ride with a full face helmet, which cuts down the wind noise quite a bit. Maybe thats why I hear a big difference.

Mine works good on just the radio, works better when I'm using the USB Jump Drive.

mine works fine. I think there are 4 levels of change in the setup if I remember. Make sure you have the most recent software too.

On my 2014 Ultra Limited I've found that the AVC seems to work when listening through the speakers, but doesn't work at all when listening through a headset.

The AVC worked flawlessly on my '02 & '09 Ultras and I never had to adjust the settings. On the '14 Limited, the AVC hardly makes any difference no matter what setting is used. If I set the volume of the radio at a stop it is too low to easily hear when going down the highway. If set at highway speed, then the radio is very loud when I come to a stop. Now add to this that I use the CB & the navigation prompts when on a road trip and the AVC doesn't adjust the volume of these correctly either. Additionally there is the "popping" noise from the speakers. I think HD / Harmon Kardon pushed out a unit without testing it properly. I also always used the HD handheld mic with the CBs on my previous bikes but the handheld mic is not compatible with the '14 (no matter what the P&A catalogue says). I now must be wired to the bike with the helmet speaker / mic headset in order to use the CB. HD took some major steps forward with the introduction of the Infotainment system but they also took a few steps back.
