I have to say that I am still at peak torque til almost 4,000 RPMs, and my HP is still climbing. The only time I go over 4,000 RPMs is when I'm ******* the bike - normal riding, it doesn't happen. I cruise at 2800-3200 RPMs, and that is where I have peak torque.

I'm not saying the 255 is the best cam out there, but it's better than most 255 haters make out.

This whole thread has been about SE cams but my pick for a stage 1 103 is Andrews 57s.
I'll agree on over camming. Wow, needs a lot more compression on that one.

I see you are running 48 cams. Do you have some proof that they "blow away" the others mentioned - bearing in mind that the 204 often gets over 100 TQ and 90HP as a bolt in cam?

Or you could put TW-222 in you 103's and get mid 90's HP and over 110TQ

Actually You have peak torque about 3700 but let's not confuse the facts. The reason 255s get a bad rap is there are MUCH better choices. Here is a Dyno sheet from the dyno section for Andrews 57s in a Stage 1 103.

It beats your 255s everywhere!
Also shows the advantage of proper dyno tune over canned map.

Here is a sheet from Woos TW 222's in a 96" with FM 2-1-2 with Rienheart 3 1\2 , pm A\C.

Also this is before and after from FM canned map to an hours dyno time to clean it up.

I won't argue with ANYTHING you said...... But I do strongly object to "they fall on their face after 3500"

I will say my 255 was a good choice at the time. It didn't void the warranty and the dealer was running a special.

Now, warranty is over and I'm looking for more. One day I'll save up and turn my bike over to Wolfgang.

My point is there are much better cams out there than 255s and SE cams in general. If it is the only warranty choice, they are better than stock. I'm not sure I'd spend new cost and labor for the minimal gain over a good stage 1, even if they were my only choice, but everybody isn't me. In fact, most sheets I've seen show then gong "flat" around 3000 and dropping hard around 4000 (as yours do). Your sheet is kind'a an abnormally as doesn't peak around 3000?? Your sheet is also STD rather than SAE so yours reads high. But the main thing is you are happy with them and your choice. Enjoy!!

That 57 is only beating him by about 10/10 at wot, which bike rides better on the road, Ive heard the 57 is soft down low on the street. I know the sheet is std for the 255 but different brand of dynos too. Looks like that 57 is taking a dive at 4k too.
