The cam is probably got the least amount of difference in tolerance than the stack up you get in the engine so most (not all) of the time the stock set up will be close enough. Some stock setups could use different shims or multiples of the shims that are put in the kit for your convenience.

Used the stock spacer when I installed my 57H Andrews cams. Checked the spacing with the feeler gauge and was good to go.

Bought the whole set of spacers. Used the one, one size up and took the rest back to Harley. SE204's. All good.

My Woods / FM TW-777's were good to go with a stock spacer.

My kit came with the spacers, Had to use the next size up.

I did all the same as these guys...I think that on newer bikes that it is almost allways repeatable. Should Be, but it might not be. Check and measure the way it tells you in the YouTube video and you will be ok.

Great thread! I'm about to do 48h's in my 96" - does anyone know if the stock spacers will suffice?

No one knows until they do the flat edge procedure outlined in the service manual.

I had the same concerns....Checked, rechecked and checked again. It was within spec. TW-222 cams in a 2012 Ultra Limited
